Beartooth Aikido moved to it&#8217;s current location in the Tri Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland) area\u00a0of Washington state in 2011. Beartooth Aikido is affiliated with\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aikido Schools of Ueshiba<\/a>, which is headed by\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/asu.org\/senior_instructors\/mitsugi-saotome-shihan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mitsugi Saotome Shihan<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0affiliated with\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aikikai.org\/about\/index_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aikikai World Headquarters<\/a>\u00a0in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Prospective members are required to watch an advanced class at the dojo and meet Schmoetzer Sensei. We also encourage those with no experience in this art to try a class. Bring a sweatsuit or other clothing, that allows free movement and covers your knees, to one of the basic classes. If you and Schmoetzer Sensei agree, you may join the dojo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Membership dues of $66 per month are payable on the first of each month. \u00a0Payment accepted via\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dwolla.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.dwolla.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Members of Beartooth Aikido are expected to maintain membership in the\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aikido Schools of Ueshiba\u00a0<\/a>(ASU), at a fee of $45 annually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Promotions are granted through ASU and cost $45 for each kyu rank.\u00a0Kyu rank promotion requirements\u00a0are available before the test; eligibility to test is based on both actual time since previous promotion and training time since previous promotion.
